North Tyneside Brass in Schools does not offer individual tuition. We teach children and adults within an ensemble setting, although we try to give everyone some individual attention within a small group setting.
However, it is very likely that you or your child would benefit from individual tuition, especially as they progress. They may want to work towards ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) grades 1-8, which are a very widely respected indicator of musical progress and ability.
We would be happy put you in touch with individuals or music schools that do offer individual tuition. Some of our music tutors may be able to offer individual tuition, but if they do so, it would be a private arrangement between you and them and independent of North Tyneside Brass in Schools.
You should expect to pay about £15 for a half hour one-to-one lesson with a professional music teacher.
Always make sure that anyone offering individual tuition is suitably qualified, insured, DBS checked and properly registered with HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) for tax purposes.
We strongly advise parents and guardians to make sure that your child is safeguarded when receiving individual tuition. E.g. ask to sit in during the lesson.
